The rest you see goes directly to the freezer after the bone removal vacuum sealing.

Thanks UB may have to give that a try, getting kinda board with making smoke/jar fish.

I have salmon smoking today.I use 1lb dark brown sugar,1 lb salt and 1 oz pickeling spices. Dry rub put in fridge or cooler overnight and smoke with fine spruce sawdust. My family has used the same recipe for 100 years. Some question the use of spruce but its our favorite, less heat then hard woods.

The second one is a stack of junction boxes. One can only shiver at what might be lurking in there!

Hey Canvasback, see below. We decided to immortalize you by naming an Alaska fire after you...

Canvasback Lake

Lat: 66:24:18
146:25:30
18N 6E 11 F
Start Date: July 12, 2010
Acres: 300
Cause: Lightning
Out Date:
Status: Uncontained
Owner: Fish and Wildlife Service
Admin: Yukon Flats Refuge
Area: Upper Yukon Zone
Suppression Option: MODIFIED
Personnel: 8

At 0915 the fire was reported to UYT Dispatch by FWS personnel conducting surveys in the area.
The report was a 100 acre fire burning in tundra near Canvasback Lake.
At 1108 zone IA Helicopter N36PF responded to the fire and personnel determined proper
coordinates and relayed size-up information. The fire was approximately 200 acres in size, creeping
in tundra along the north and east perimeters and backing to the west and south also in tundra. Flame
lengths were 2-3 feet and winds were out of the west at 10-15 mph. A FWS cabin site was located
and assessed as well as an allotment south of the fire. N36PF conducted one fuel cycle of bucket
drops to the southern perimeter of the fire.
At 1522 eight smokejumpers were delivered to the fire and reported the fire to be over 300 acres in
size. The fire was smoldering and backing a little bit along the southern perimeter. There were two
small collumns of smoke along the northern perimeter where the fire was burning through some
black spruce stringers. The jumpers and 2 helitack personnel from FYU began allotment and cabin
site protection measures. The current objectives are to keep the southern perimeter of the fire from
spreading towards the FWS cabin and allotment.

Before anyone gets too riled, I'd like to point out that it was intended as a joke (except to Hup, lol)... the opinions expressed by one idiotic alaskan do not represent the views of Tman, other alaskans, or anyone in general..
