The wild goose was a burger joint when we moved to bethel, 4 or 5 years after the town went damp. I can't remember if it was condemned and fell down or fell down and then condemned....

I have no tolerance for drunks, and a lot of the town feels the same way.

What I would like to see, and you guys touched on it earlier, is for the town or village government to own the license. The town should reap any financial reward from selling booze since the town has to pay all the costs associated with the drunks. I normally would be opposed to that competition with private enterprise but booze related problems affect everyone in the community.

I think there are 7 Towns, Villages, that have Community Liquor License in Alaska. If the Town owned the License, that would be a good source of revenue to fund improvements to the Town.

Anyone remember the OLD Hoboe's Bar in Galena ? I was last in the original in 1975. The walls were pock marked with bullet holes from decades of socializing.

I love me some salmon berries! I have yet to find a good 'patch' of them around here. I bet they'd make great jelly! We've been on a blueberry picking spree and I have been loving all the goodies that come as a result!

They do make awsome jam...like Rafe says...strain the seeds ...and one serving of Salmon Berries is 300% daily intake of Vitimin C..I think.. only rose hips are higher.
