Skinning/Fleshing Table

Thought it might be a good idea to have 3 different sized fleshing beams! Made them so they drop down with legs! What do you guys think????

You can tell I have only used the middle fleshing beam! I just started trapping 2009-2010 season! I made the first fleshing beam and was too big to get my Gray Foxes necks over it (beam too large)! Since I had caught my first Mink that season I knew I had to make a smaller beam so I decided to make a medium one for the foxes and such, the bigger one in the middle will work good for yotes and such............. Have all the room I need for my knives and fur handling tools on the top shelf!

3 possum
15 muskrat
5 beaver
2 otter

2 raccoon

Not that bad at all. I just position the legs where I need them to get the beams at a comfortable level! The beams themselves are 5' long so when I have the beams down the tip of the beam as at about 3 1/2' from the ground which is a perfect height for me.....

You really put some thought into this table and the craftsmanship is better than the center island cabinet I made for my house. every table needs wheels, nice touch.

Nice work on the table. You have what I believe is called a small animal flesher in two of your pics. It is a relatively inexpensive tool as I recall, but how do you use it, and what is it used for?

Trigr; are you talking about the small tool with the bell looking scrapers on it? If you are I have used a couple times and it did not work very well... I have not found another time to try it out, I have grown to like my fleshing knives they work a lot better. I may find time to try it again if I get something small like a mink so I can be careful with it but we will see.

So far I would have to suggest not to get one, they are inexpensive and maybe I'm using it wrong? Just started trapping last year and don't have anyone to show me how to do things it's more of a trial and error thing....
