We probably could, but with the way a few of us shoot, payment better be high to cover the cost of ammo.

I have never shot a dog, though I did think about it quite a bit with a hunting partner who told me his dog was WELL trained. Dam thing wouldn't sit still or listen to simple commands like COME or SIT. And then to top it off, the buddy shot a duck in the slough we were hunting and the dog went, got it, and went to the other side and ate the duck. If it would have been my duck, I would have shot him then and there.

That was my first year with my dog, and she was only a year old and 10 times better. Never hunted with that guy again, and we were on an island in SE AK with 6 other guys for a week. No one else would hunt with him either.

With all this love, enthusiasm and money flowing how much is the high bidder willing to pay to be my caretaker this winter?

Was just watering my batteries and walked out of the battery room and took this photo at <50 feet with a small pocket camera.

They have been causing a lot of damage here but when they attacked the flag pole I think we are now dealing with terrorists.

Before we can pay to be your caretaker, we have to prove our worth next sept on a predator control mission.

Terrorists, I LOVE IT.

At this rate, we can all meet up in Anchorage and charter a plane out there, it'll be cheaper (seriously, it would). However, between Fish, kusko and my lunker arse....might push the weight limit on the Navajo. smile

Idea: Maybe we can hold another auction. Winner flies out and gets to pack out bear hides, flesh bear hides, salt bear hides, boil skulls, etc. Not every day a non-res gets to do that!

Just doing what I want now.

That's exactly what I was thinking! There's a Navajo here @ $795 per hour. Seats 9.

Here is a starting point...

Alaskans love to fight, traditionally. All real Alaskans love the sting and clash of battle.
You are here today for three reasons.
First, because you are here to defend Ugashik Bobs home and loved ones.
Second, you are here for your own self respect, because you would not want to be anywhere else.
Third, you are here because you are real men and all real men like to fight. When you, here, everyone of you, were kids, you all admired the fastest runner, the toughest boxer, the big league ball players, and the All-American football players. Alaskans love a winner. Alaskans will not tolerate a loser. Alaskans despise cowards. Alaskans play to win all of the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in helll for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Alaskans have never lost nor will ever lose a war; for the very idea of losing is hateful to an Alaskan."

"Only two percent of you right here today will die in battle. Death must not be feared. Death, in time, comes to all men. Yes, every man is scared in his first battle. If he says he's not, he's a liar. Some men are cowards but they fight the same as the brave men. The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared. Some men get over their fright in a minute under fire. For some, it takes an hour. For some, it takes days. But a real man will never let his fear of death overpower his honor, his sense of duty to his country, and his innate manhood. Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best and it removes all that is base. Alaskans pride themselves on being He Men and they ARE He Men. Remember that the enemy is just as frightened as you are, and probably more so. They are not supermen."

"All through your hunting careers, you men have bitched about what you call "chicken crap drilling". That, like everything else I taught you has a definite purpose.
That purpose is alertness. Alertness must be bred into every hunter. I don't give a (bleep) for a man who's not always on his toes. You men are veterans or you wouldn't be here. You are ready for what's to come. A man must be alert at all times if he expects to stay alive. If you're not alert, sometime, a bear is going to sneak up behind you and beat you to death with a sockful of crap!"

You can start yesterday as long as I get to pick who stays for the winter. Another small detail the nearest wheels strip is 28 miles downstream.
