Sorry, I am rolling here laughing thinking of Alaskan screeming...ha ha. But then if I was in your boots I think I would be too. So he was on a run down the creek with a tree following him.

Maybe the photo that Spec shared is that same bear ??

Who was it that showed a picture of yearing griz caught in a like a number 4 dls ? I am thinking it was Alaskan or TJ ? It was held by a toe or two.

OC:
I use the Alaska State Flower (55 gallon drum). Cut a square the size of a 330 and mount it on the front. I put flagging tape on the top of the 330 so I can see when if when it fires from the house with a spotting scope. Start when the season opens in November but its usually better in Jan/Feb.

You guys have it all wrong. In that situation I would have been dead silent and just crapped myself...

Two years ago, for the entire month of November and half of December we had a BIG ol grizz following our wolverine line. It didn't enter but circled each set a few times. Then finally it managed to rip down a bucket, but thankfully left us our trap. Sure were some big tracks....

Just about the time we didn't think we might not get enough bait, Cav Scout and I put in a 12 house beaver line on Saturday. We checked on Sunday and had 7 out of 18 traps. We checked/pulled today and had 6 more.

AKbeav snuck out and did some too. He pulled 20 out of 18 houses in the same number of days.

We are good on bait, castor, and early beavers now. smile Our broken swager is back and now it's time to make up some snares. The season will be here before we know it.

Ughhh....snow.....

Plan for this upcoming hunt was to have COLD for ease of travel and a nice warm AO stove for the nights.

snow...expected temps in the high 30s, and some rain....

Trail is going to be crap....

Sounds like fun! Snow and rain mix doesn't sound enjoyable, but hey, you will be hunting! I am sure Hup and okie will keep you occupied! smile

The plan was for cold so teh trail would be hard so the traveling easy...that's out.

K- Going for EVERYTHING. Bears, moose, musk ox and caribou. Okie can only get caribou, but we needed a camp cook and massage therapist, so we invited him.

How much fun would it be if it was easy???

Jeeze, if you wanted an easy hunt, we should have gone and shot some stupid antelope or whitetails from a truck, like them folk on the other forum do...

A bull caribou will be darn near inedible this time of year in case you guys didn't know.

Hup likes a challenge other than living in his concrete jungle.

He can't abuse the guy who can actually hit stuff he aims at.....

although he did just sight in his gun and 1 out of 3 rounds on a paper plate at 100 yds is close enough...

K- Everything is edible... Mix seasoning and go. Not to mention we can get cows also. This time is NOT "good eating" time for any of the game.... This hunt is all about the biggest and baddest! smile

That is all good, as long at it doesn't apply to creek crossings, mud holes, N heads, snow storms and injuries......

I am awfully excited for the biggest and baddest Grayling... provided the creek isn't froze...
