I want to catch a few mink this year and want to try mink boxes. I have a dozen new duke 110s, 2 victor 1 longs, 1 duke 1.5 coil, and 1 duke 1.75 coil. what should i use for bait. I have a few sunfish in the frezer from the summer and i have a muskrat carcus. Any pics of how you made your mink boxs, sets with the trap and bait, good locations and catch pics would be very helpfull.

Thanks, Zane

if you use 220's and are trying to catch mink you should think about coni pans. Yes, I have caught mink before, but have also seen countless times where mink have went into a cat or fisher box, only to grab some food and leave untouched.

Not a great pic, but you can see I along with many others on here use newspaper boxes. I would also suggest a coni-pan. Also, boxes seem to work way better after a lot of snow and freezing temps., not so much when the weather is nice. Fish or muskrat would be good bait.

The biggest mink I have ever seen was caught in a 160 baited box on the ice by my freind. He set it for February coon. Here is one of my early experiments of a mink tunnel box in the90's.I put it on the ice parallel to an overhaging bank where I saw alot of mink tracks.Have not messed around with it since. But with these early winters in the past few years I might again.

VACooner, thanks, this was a couple of years ago and i don't remember what it brought, $15 mabey. Not enough for a well handled nice pelt LOL. zbbowtech, I have never used the circle triggers, so i can't say.If you can get ahold of some newspaper boxes just cut notches in the side, about half way up for the springs. If you look close you can see this on the right side of my pic.I also drill holes in the back so a mink can see through, and a hole on top to add bait, lure, and urine. I like Lenons mink super all call and cavens mink master lures. Also, after you have the spring in the slot you cut at the front of the box push it up or down and it really slabilizes the trap.
