What is the difference between this:

• the hide, viscera, head, or bones of game legally taken or killed by vehicles,
after salvage of edible meat;

and this:

• parts of legally taken big game animals that are not required to be salvaged as
edible meat, if the parts are moved from the kill site;

????

Isn't game, mean game??

In the first one, I think it assumes that you have removed these items from the kill site to use as bait somehwere else.

Looks like there is about 3 feet of snow there . Is the ice on the creek thick enough to walk on ?

Never thought I would ask this, but would you all send some of that warm Alaskan air over to NY ? It's pretty bad when Anchorage is warmer in actual air temperature and windchill than NY !! crazy

Anchorage is often warmer than a lot of the lower 48, but the difference with latitude is that our winter starts in early October and break-up can be as late as May. It's the duration of winter... not the severity that causes winter-lovers to move here. That'll just be our little secret whistle

never say duration of winter, not the severity, and Alaska in the same sentance. I just got after my friend who said good jobs and Alaska in the same sentance!

I wasn't talking about Alaska as a whole... just Anchorage. In a lot of Alaska... it IS about winter severity!

lol, while we are on the topic, sortof anyhow, the other day after logging out of my Yahoo web mail, I noticed an article on the front page of Yahoo's web site under the main news heading. It was titled something like 'Fastest growing small towns in America' or whatever. Anyhow, I was concerned Fairbanks might have been on the list so I clicked the link. Turns out Fairbanks was number one! I just sighed (almost in tears actually) as I could only estimate how many people saw that ad (you know, the McCandless types or whoever), must be somewhere in the millions. I sure wish Alaska wasn't getting the attention it has been lately.

She has got me wanting to move to Dillingham / Naknek.

Heard the trapping there is nearly unlimited. Lines all over for the taking and critters waiting inline to get caught

temporary change of topic... if you had access to a moose carcass, edible meat's been salvaged, what's the best part to keep for bait (for marten & lynx if it matters.) I'm thinking the head?
