Well our Christmas present is a welcome warm spell. It's up to 5 below this morning... that's after 93 years of minus 40 it seems like. I doubt it will last long though.

As soon as i find out whether I can land there. been waiting for a report on that for a couple weeks but conditions just haven't been conducive to flying. Maybe we'll get a break now.

Merry Christmas from the Gash!

2nd time in a lot of years I can remember the river frozen all the way across right in front of our house. Very fast moving water and usually takes 40 below to freeze it up. Must be the prolonged cold.

Hi guys and merry xmas! As you can see I'm back. Drug my feet since there was a glich and my acc got wiped out but I am here now. Rough year for me loosing my sister, getting skunked moose hunting and getting a late start trapping this year do to some wacky weather. I'm am having one of my best starts on cats but think it may be do to them peaking in my area. Much more mature catch's and sign but ALOT less rabbits. Headed up into the hills in search of wolverine, only to find someone was alreay there. Not a total loss, got to meet another great trapper and friend. Got to go turn some hides now, heading out in the am to check, I'll start a journel soon...

Oh and I still have my best trapping partner in the world going with me on the line...little Kara.

Hey guys on those cats, when you have a long check say a week, do they succumb to the cold? I would assume you don't want that because of the potential of fur damage by other critters.
In other words do you do anything to keep them alive.

They will eat if you have enough for them. But a week is no problem.

In terms of weather the longer I live here the less I know what normal is. I knew I shouldn't of gotten the snowmobile tuned up.
