Yup, I'm super glad we didn't put in the big line now. We had some rain last night, but we didn't loose our snow. smile

It was real tempting to put in more sets on Friday, but I'm glad I didn't.

Did it knock your snow down very much?

No...with what we gained,..I think we broke even..it knocked the snow off the trees.so thats nice, and also will harden up nice for traveling, once it cools off...its clearing to the west some might be over... for awhile anyway.

Well I was sort of hoping it might put in a base so it would be easier traveling. I hope so.

White, when we tried to punch into our camp, the snow go travel was pretty decent with about 4-6 inches of solid snow under the sugar stuff. I would bet it's going to be even better.

Kinda knocked our snow down a little plus all the ice is out of the lake. Would mow the lawn but would need floats for the mower.

We finally got out and ran into a ton of overflow and couldn't set the upper half of our line. Stupid warm weather. Only upside is I was able to bring my daughter with me today. She had a blast riding around and helping to set traps. Seems to be a ton of bunnies out this year. Even jumped a few. I sure hope it gets cold again so that overflow can freeze up and we can get to the upper part. I am curious to see what it looks like this year.

I left yet another pr of coni setters out on the tundra today as a present to the trapping gods. I wonder how many pairs of them I have gone through in the last 20 yrs. I know I got a dozen one time and gave two pairs of those away and as of today lost the other 10 plus several others over the years. This does not include 4 axes, and numerous pliers, wire, cable cutters, screw drivers, and other misc tools. MTP is getting another $40 out of me cause you can't just order a pair of setters when ordering trapping supplies smile

Wow you should buy stock in the outfit that makes them or use the new ones as a pattern. The only thing I know I have lost over the years is a swede saw, and my good judgement. I still have my rugged good looks and rapier wit.

Otterman, ever try the EZ set type coni setters? Works like a caulking gun. I paint all my trapping tools fluorescent orange, and tie flagging on my axe, etc. I don't leave stuff behind near as often that way.

We were in the low 40's today. The best I can do is scrape the sets out and place my traps on cribbing. Snares had to be reset due to snow coming out of the trees. Oh yeah, no animals moving at all. Hope for cold!

Here r 2 tools that use alot over the years, the tree saw works great on willows & the icepick with sheath is the best tool i have found 4 getting the ice out from around the ilder wheels & under your machine & skies.

Dang Tod, you need to get yourself some sort of toolbelt for your trapping stuff! Course it won't help if you don't put stuff back in the belt.
