The heck with Facebook I'm here in the kitchen prepping dinner and watching a show called "MT AG LIVE" on PBS. For those of you trying to figure this whole face book thing out it all starts with a facebook account that is free!

1. In the search bar above type the word "create" you will see a image with the words Create A New Facebook Page.

2. Create a local business.

3. I chose naming my page with my market area in it versus the name of business.

Robb so what happened in the last few weeks that this use of facebook has exploded for business use? Is this just a fad like websites and next year or next week it's going to some other confusing format? Of course anything but the yellow pages confuses me.

In June 2009 I did the same podcast telling folks that social network marketing was the way to go. I told folks about twitter and Facebook and few really caught on and realized if they had done what I said they would have Facebook pages working like web pages showing up for Google, Bing and Yahoo searches.

Few listened to the first, but many downloaded the last one this time around 18 months later.Facebook really exploded in the last 18 months ands some folks don't even have email they call it facebook. I watched Facebook pass AOL, Myspace, Twitter and Google for better ranking.

The new podcast same name Poorman's Guide To Internet Maarketing 2011" went viral on Facebook and Twitter and got a lot of shares and has drawn a lot of traffic to my web sites. In the end a good web site draws traffic and will get better ranking then those who don't.

I am telling folks in 2011 to have a web site, blog, Facebook page and a twitter account and take on the task of learning how to market yourself. If this old bald headed, bearded 52 year old can figure it out many of others can too!

The difference Mr Salys and acceptance of Facebook and all things computer is both our generation and our industry did not take to quickly using computers. Being social both offline and online and making a point to help folks and share stuff with them and at the same time folks learn and get comfortable with wanting to know what you do, where you do it and how you do it!

its a new world salys most of the younger folk under 30 today never disconnect form Facebook with their blackberry and app phones. We need to know how to reach that audience and already be in their search. I really beleive if you do all these things you will show up on most cell phones across the country so start building and use key word domains I can help you pick them out.
