If I remember right Charles Holt, Jason Reger and maybe it was Ron Krueger were all going after similar names.Probably all have name pages as personal pages like me too. I think Facebook sent out messages telling us we could get personalized pages back then or something like that.

No back (2 -4 years ago) we could then not sure about now. Facebook is so much bigger now and has went through many changes since I first began using Facebook it had nothing compared to what Myspace had back then.

Trapping by Nate can be your facebook company page but calling it Racine wildlife may work better in the search engines for you if Racine was your target market! The Winkelmans should be owning some Milwaukee Species pages too! PW does a pretty good being frequently noticeable with all of his internet marketing efforts in Milwaukee!!

If I recall when I set mine up you have to find and go to the lick to set up a business page. You can't set up a "normal" personal page.

Don't you have to have so many people "like" your page before you can get a business page up and running? I'm trying to figure all this new stuff out.

Thanks Rob, As normal I'm confused about it. I setup a product/page and I ended up with a personal addy and from there I can manage a page which I'm trying to get setup and going. I thought it said you need 25 people to like you on the page or something to get your own URL or whatever. And something about your own name or something. I'll have to look more into just what the h... I'm doing and what I want to get accomplished with it.

For those of you trying to figure this whole face book thing out it all starts with a facebook account that is free!

1. In the search bar above type the word "create" you will see a image with the words Create A New Facebook Page.

2. Create a local business.

3. I chose naming my page with my market area in it versus the name of business.

In June 2009 I did the same podcast telling folks that social network marketing was the way to go. I told folks about twitter and Facebook and few really caught on and realized if they had done what I said they would have Facebook pages working like web pages showing up for Google, Bing and Yahoo searches.

Few listened to the first, but many downloaded the last one this time around 18 months later.Facebook really exploded in the last 18 months ands some folks don't even have email they call it facebook. I watched Facebook pass AOL, Myspace, Twitter and Google for better ranking.

The new podcast same name Poorman's Guide To Internet Maarketing 2011" went viral on Facebook and Twitter and got a lot of shares and has drawn a lot of traffic to my web sites. In the end a good web site draws traffic and will get better ranking then those who don't.

I am telling folks in 2011 to have a web site, blog, Facebook page and a twitter account and take on the task of learning how to market yourself. If this old bald headed, bearded 52 year old can figure it out many of others can too!

The difference Mr Salys and acceptance of Facebook and all things computer is both our generation and our industry did not take to quickly using computers. Being social both offline and online and making a point to help folks and share stuff with them and at the same time folks learn and get comfortable with wanting to know what you do, where you do it and how you do it!

We need to know how to reach that audience and already be in their search. OK, I got my 25 "likes"(thanks, guys!), registered my domain of www.facebook.com/mole.control and signed up for a pay-per-click type add, with an initial budget of $10 per day. Facebook claims I'm getting clicks, and is happily accepting the $10 per day.

Robb, or anyone else, do you guys know where these facebook ads run? Do they run on other facebook pages, or on Facebook search results? I just don't know what I'm getting for my ad dollar here.

Well I am not located near a big city to key in on that Robb. I service 7-8 smaller towns and only have 3 larger towns near me. Would you then just suggest listing my business name or possibly 2 or 3 surrounding counties in my area + wildlife removal.

I am calling it "Ok I Got A Facebook Page. Now What!!"

I just want to say thank you for the many of you for giving this thing a try. A few Facebook Pages I have been involved with are already showing up on Google Searches.

My Tips:

1. Create A Company Page and Think of it as a pet.

2. Remember to feed it daily with something even if its a photo or someone else's stuff that you "shared".

3. Many of you are confused on Likes. You need to go to someones company page and look and see if like is in the tab near the top in black and white. Many of you are just liking a post and not liking the actual page. Confusing a little its not Salys or Probtrapper proof either.

4. Many of you need to learn to post as the company page and not personally (Right Dave). In the right hand corner is a tab called account and use Facebook as your company page and not your personal account. This makes you be two different people . Post or share something daily but remember it shows up on your page wall.

Well, ain't facebook wonderful. I got my first ever negative comment this morning. Some yahoo that I don't know from Adam's housecat with wild accusations. I responded with a polite and professional reply and even asked him to contact me directly to help resolve his issue with whoever actually did do him wrong. Of course no response.
