Apparently, according to the Newsminer, they were here last week or the week before, but I didn't see any until the day before yesterday.
On a different note, while standing knee deep in freezing water on top of ice looking for muskrats yesterday, it occured to me that I have walked through thicker brush, driven through deeper snow, and stood on more questionable ice now that I'm an aspiring trapper than I would have even thought about when I was just an aspiring hunter. And I'm gonna go do it again today after my coffee does it's job!
Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

Should be seeing geese today according to my records. Anybody ? Not much open water. there were a few here last week, and ducks the week before that.

Birds will be showing up here anyday now, and we have enough snow to get out a ways from town, so hunting them is going to be fun for a while.

Surprising there were not two or three males around, that is the way it usually works
