I did make him a offer but its hard to deal with shipping from here. and I would rather not skin it myself.
and figured it was his once in a lifetime catch so didnt want to temp him too much.

Jeff that is what is referred to in the fur trade as a "specimen" It is best sold to the taxi market mount or tan for your own use. Problem with specimen pelts is that there is nothing to match it with for a lot.

Nice catch. smile

I can hardly stand it! Season opens here Thursday, A.M. Have had a heck of a cold, otterman is here and I don't want to get him sick, deer are rutting, snow keeps falling, and I'm in QUARINTINE!

Just doing what I want now.

Know the feeling all too well AV... Call it dumb or just stubborn, but about 12 yrs ago I invested in poor waders and couldn't afford a replacement in-season. Needless to say walking pneumonia and another month of the season to go, well hardheaded I trudged through and had a nice season besides hacking up nasty crap for a month! I now truly believe in quality when buying anything.

The deer round here are like rabbits, see fresh ones hit daily.

Get better AV! I've had the crud for a few weeks but finally got well enough (and found the time) to start my little line. Got a nice double yesterday on foxcicles. They cleaned up ok but lost a little fur. I thought I had it set up so anything caught would hang up higher on the bank... didn't work out that way. Live and learn.

We need a thaw so these babies will be around next year!

I know its a poor quality photo but was the best I could do at 600+ lasered yards. After all these years finally got a photo of a live wolverine that wasn't in a trap. Not many places you can do that from your doorstep.

AV:
Took about four steps and dissappeared in the alders. No sets out this year as there are medical issues and its easier to trap on the internet.
W17:
Actually I tried to bring it into a 6.5 Grendel barrel with a caller but no cigar.

Post processing when you shoot a Canon is much easier than fleshing.

With the three or so feet of snow that we have accumulated over the past week here in southeast, it forced alot of deer to hit the beach. Over on Admiraltyit was really fun deer hunting last week. Saw groups of 4 and 5 on the beach, my buddy dropped me off and went around the corner of the bay and counted 15 at one time. Six deer ended up going for a boat ride back to town, We filled our tags, 4 for me and 2 for him. Talked with a gal who arrowed one with a recurve bow, now that's hardcore. I'll try and post a picture of em. Rain, and above freezing temps will make for fun times trapping in southeast come this weekend. laugh

Yeah, we need this junk to rain off. If not, the deer and moose are toast. Boatloads of deer are filing into the harbor. It's pretty disgusting. One boat- 5 guys- 24 deer in a day and a half and they were only shooting 2 pts and up.

YK:
Good advice. About 4 years ago I took one about 50 feet from where the photo was taken with a round connibear on a barrel.
