With what we paid fur value and tanning and dyeing and shipping both ways I am guessing around $120. for the XL and $100 for large we are just trying to break even on em.

Some day I will finish the hat I started. Plucked and sheared beaver belly. Wasn't quite done with this one. Was waiting to see where my final seam was before as I didn't want to pluck more than I had to. Will be placing it on the inside as the liner. Made one like that years ago and left it in the airport. argh!! If there is any fur more inviting I don't know what it is.

Will post when I get them. Had 12 done and then half will be dyed black.

Another winter storm warning for tonight. Man, we have gotten almost 30 inches of snow this month already. Calling for another inch per hour from 4:00 this afternoon 'till 9:00 tomorrow morning. This is going to make getting to the trap line a real challenge. Hope we're not in for another 200+ inch year!

We are getting a lot of snow here too. Going to be a challenge to keep our wolverine buckets from getting buried. We were able to get most of them under good sized spruce trees so hopefully that helps it some.

Hi Yukonjeff, no one really knows why they vanished. maybe it was just one of those things.I don't think it was water quality as it all happened so many years ago. Would you be able to provide a little information on how they are caught and maybe a few more pics for an information-hungry critter such as myself? Thanks.

That is too bad that they are gone there as we would miss them here for sure very good eating.

We use a gillnet and some use set hook lines and even a few still use a big square fish cage type trap with funnels on the sides they build a uderwater fence through the ice with poles to help stear the fish into the funnelsthey are always caught under ice we dont catch them much in the summer for some reason they must be deep then.I will get pics from time to time.

Don't know if anyone saw, but the ol' Wife made it on "Flying Wild Alaska". She was (in her words) the one "waving like a retard" from the balcony when the Tweeto girls were busting out the fur bikini.

However, I could see her face and she never signed any release...i'm going to go for some compensation...fairly certain she made that scene...

My partner here caught two out of the same beaver set several years ago. His are true albino and somewhat whiter.

I'd sure hang onto that if I was the guy who caught it. What's the gender Jeff ?

Its the first I have personaly seen on, I think its tan apearance might of had something to do with the murky water we have here on the Yukon,and I could not quite determin if the eyes were pink the pupil looked pink though.

I encouraged him to keep it or give it to his mom..but I fear I might end up buying it put up to nafa specs..lol

If the eyes were pink it would be real obvious. Even the tissue around the eye is pinkish. Pretty neat animal

Jeff, you should offer to buy it whole if he is going to skin for the fur market. You could make some money with it.
