I have some private buyers, some to the ATA auction, some to NAFA, etc. What I wanted to say was, "in this kind of weather we line our walls with them for insulation....."

That's pretty funny otterman! Keep getting those coyotes, we don't want them over here.

Kusko they seem to come and go a bit around here there are more down on the cape (closer to you) then inland a bit 6 years ago I got 5 then none until last year when I got 2 now this year 1 again. It has been this way for the last 15 yrs at least so I hope it remains that way. They have made a dent in the fox population in at leaste one very isolated part of my line where all three in the last two yrs have come from
We get out of life only as much as we really want and work hard enough to achieve

You don't want them around. Fur sucks and they eat more critters than the fox seem to. Would rather have fox than coyotes.

Jeff I am surprised to see you with your front feet turned back out. You don't worry about tumbling catches. Is this your prefs or did you get this from your trip to the plant last year? I am paranoid now. My partner a few years ago pulled the front legs out on some before I could get to them. We lost two in tumbling. Only thing I could attribute a $12 lynx to.

I'm also noting feet off, I was under the impression on lynx unlike bobcats feet should be left on.

From what Wissmiss has said, most Lynx are sent in without feet, but the ones from Alaska with the feet on go into another grouping and usually get more money for them. She said she could identify them by the CITES tags in them as coming from Alaska. I am sure she could elaberate.

I am paranoid now. My partner a few years ago pulled the front legs out on some before I could get to them. We lost two in tumbling. Only thing I could attribute a $12 lynx to. Thats the way I have been putting them up for years, they wont get caught in the drumming as they are just stubs. they say to leave them inside but I know that invites taint in the armpits and I aint having that. I have consistantly got top lot with Nafa and FH put up like this I taught all the trappers this is how I want them put up and last May we had 5 in top lot at FH so I guess its acepted, Joe mattie told me the other day that FH no longer wants legs dangling from the pelt they want them cut off and left inside"it shows off the belly better" and less entanglement in the drumming. And the deal with the feet on will get you more money is not true..the taxies will want some like that but dont realy pay any more for feet on but on a year when the cats are not selling well the ones with feet will sell better sometimes. skin the feet if you want but I wont ever again. It warmed up to -32 today so ran my line and picked up 7 cats..they seam to be realy hunting in this cold.
