Frozen Planet episodes tonight on Discovery about wolverines, wolves and weasels (and polar bears) Looks interesting. Preview scene showed a pack of wolves taking down a mature bison in the snow as another one tried to fight them off.

In between blizzards we have had a bunch of waterfowl show up. Happened to catch a swan wearing two bands in this photo.

Kusko, if the word on street is the ducks were first spotted yseterday, it is usually another week before they ACTUALLY see a REAL one smile Unless YOU saw them then i believe.

guts is all encompassing....

FYI, I just saw the first GEESE of the season. they seemed confused, as the grassy park strip they usually land and feed on is covered in 2 ft of snow still.
Swans were here last week.
There was an article in the paper about the swans and DUCKS being back already...... except the ding dong who wrote the article failed to notice that those are the same ducks that have been in the same spot all winter. Just the swans were new arrivals...

That's some camera you have Bob! Great photo's!

Haven't eaten pike before Jeff, only pickerel. Lots of bones but delicious!

Lots of specs here now and the lagoon behind us has opened up partially. Several swan pairs are setting out on the frozen tundra ponds wondering why they are still frozen. Snow and ice going very slowly

Been cold and frozen out here and still waiting for the first geese to arive if the north wind colds we will be waiting awhile yet.

Also here is a pic of a Lynx I sold to a taxidermist (Mike Doyle) in MI. for a competition he won a bunch of awards and did a great job.. its tough to get a Lynx right.

Taxi did a beautiful job all the way around Jeff. His habitat work is as good as his mount.
