April 4, 2012:3 Rats today and a small beaver at a toilet set. So I come up on the last trap and the stake was gone. Couldn't see it anywhere, then all of a sudden something brown moves under a patch of reeds. It was too large to be a rat and I automatically assumed it was a beaver. Catching a beaver in a stoploss and holding it isn't un heard of. So I grabbed the gun, got around to him and shot him from 4 feet away. Pulled him out of the water and then pulled the trap up with him. Didn't even bother to try and chew the stake! One of the rats
