I agree with everything good on this thread. The only critique is I do like fiberglass ladders and as far as possible around electric lines. Pesky is not a wordsman but he gets it done, makes it work and charges accordingly. Thank you for sharing Pesky and taking it as well as you do. I'm rooting for you.

It doesn't mader what kind of ladder you use or what's on it . If you go flying In them wires it's not good . If you look at where there spliced together the squirrel have chewed the insulation off at that spot . When your stepping on or off the ladder is when you have no control over your ladder . This why I tie it off . With the ladder tied off and the feet screwed down there's no Possable way . If people wish to think differnt that fine with me . For me I tie of and takes little time and in the long run will save you time because of your rock solid ladder .

I get 1 to 3 each day sometimes 5 . I just had a dry spell where I went 5 days without a chimney coon call . During this dry spell the attic coon picked up and they were mostly all boar coon . Wierd . But it's a wierd year . I haven't seen any just born kit coon in like two weeks . In a normal year this is the time of the year there dropping there kits . Right now the squirrel jobs dropped off . It runs in streeks . Right now the bat scratching has picked up . It was going strong but then fell off for three weeks . The beaver jobs have started . I don't get but a few but mostly in may after lots of rain . Headed to a job where something is digging holes in a muddy part of the I'm kinda excited . Then got three attic coon jobs 1 is new and two are jobs that the coon won't come out . Already tried the snare pole but just couldn't get to them . I'm thinking of pulling the comstocks and adding conibears

Okay, here's your chance to holler at me! Was at a job with my aluminum ladder reasonably close to an electrical line going into a private residence. There happened to be an electrician from Wisconsin Electric there too. I ask him what the chances were that electricity would jump to my ladder. His answer; zero to none, and on a family residence, the shock you get will be no worse on the outside than on the inside; or in other words, the shock won't even hurt you but the fall off the ladder can kill you.

Go ahead, all you electricians. Was he wrong?

Only one way to be sure, test it and post the results:) If we do not here from you then we will have to assume the electrician was wrong.

I too am rooting for Pesky...and everyone else. I do think that posting photos is a beneficial learning tool for all. For each constructive criticism point, one should include a positive remark.

Pointing out the electric/aluminum ladder is a habit. I spent ~14 years in Environmental, Health & Safety prior to full time ADC. The idea that all accidents can be prevented is engraved in my mind. Did you know that over 90% of accidents are caused by an unsafe behavior? Prior to doing any kind of work....wrestling coons...climbing a ladder....you should think about how the job can be done safer.

And yes, fiberglass ladders should be used around electrical. The insulating material does not last very long with exposure to the sun and elements. It might keep us all wrestling coons a little longer.

Very good video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy81YP-q8R4&feature=related
