Pete your so darn right. We have fish traps on the lower Yukon so it came out with out thinking. I knew it was a fish wheel. Good catch. Len: Being "trap-centric" is not a bad thing!

You know if I spend too much time over on the Trapper Talk site I get to missing Joe Vogler.
Who is John Galt?

We've had geese here for over a week now. Our snow is melting pretty quick so I'll probably make 1 more trip for geese this weekend and then I need to fill the freezers with caribou before they disappear for the summer. Heres a snapshot of the front of our cabin we completed this spring on our allotment. Next winter Im gonna mount some caribou antlers and Ram horns to complete the ornaments over the entryway. Here's a pic of my Auntie overlooking the allotment facing north. Our own slice of heaven, 90 acres worth. Our cabin is on the lower left side of the snap shot right next to the creek. My Attata (grandpa) picked a pretty good spot for his allotment. When I picture heaven, that is just what it looks like. AWESOME cabin.
I have nothing clever to put here.

You know if I spend too much time over on the Trapper Talk site I get to missing Joe Vogler. Just got back to my computer after being away all day. Evidently I have been on the Trapper Talk since this morning. I did not get to missing anyone.

Jeff, how is the King run looking for real? Biologists are saying it will be terrible, but I always take that with a grain of salt. Especailly after the year their sonar at Pilot Station was pointed at a sand bar and the fish were going upriver on the other side of it one year.

-TJ TJ they are closing subsisnce Kings after today, they have pushed the panic button already since the runs are late, there is still ice out in the Bering sea keeping the water temps cool and we had a cold spring so who knows when they will hit. and yes you are right about the sonar they dont have a clue how to count fish I wish they would just quit using it and go with the drift test fishery (we have one here now). sounds like the same story on the Kusko they closed it already. O-man looks like you are going to eat good this winter!

That's cool compared to what is in the forecast over here for the next couple of days. Low 90's with high humidity! Had to get out the fan for my German Shorthair so he would be comfortable !!

Bummer on the Kings. I have yet to see one king swirl in the offshoots of the Susitna I've been in this summer. I havent been out as much as I'd like, but still pretty slow. Havent seen a moose around my place since April either. Not a good sign.
