I skun a beaver with it tonight, and was really surprised how long it stayed sharp. I remember you had mentioned it before and that's the reason I bought it.
The black one is a piece of garbage compared to this.

August 22, 2012:

I'm currently on a 7 day vacation in Drumheller, Alta for a family reunion. Went for a drive today (well I was a passenger) over to Bass Pro Shops near Airdrie, Alta and picked up a new Remington 870 for a bit cheaper then what I can get in Winnipeg at Cabelas. But then what isn't expensive at Cabelas.

Goose and duck season is quickly approaching.

Today marks the opening of youth duck and goose hunting. Couldn't get at any geese this morning but managed to get a few ducks with the new 870.

Looks like you had a good Opening Day of the Youth hunt. Did you see many Sand hill cranes?
Nice molting woodies

Good luck on the cranes. They can detect movement long away.

September 2, 2012:

Crane hunt this morning went pretty well i'd say. Between the 4 of us we took down 9 birds.

Gonna go dump the remains in the bait pile now, and have a look at some geese and ducks for another day's hunt.

On windy days like this they will not soar but fly back and forth to fields. Just find their flight paths and wait one flock will follow another. The brown birds are the young of the year and the most tender to eat

Starting to cool down nice at night here already. Thank goodness. Now to just add a minus in front of that number.

Don't confuse those that use to the Fahrenheit scale.... in Minnesota you could walk on water with that reading.

For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.
