Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I was gonna bring back some of the stomach for my cousin, but it was pretty blistered!
Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

When I lived in Washington our turkey camp had a tradition that every time you killed a bird, that night you had to take a shot of Wild Turkey Whiskey from a tanned deer testicle. I'm doing that with the next moose bull I shoot, except it'll be more like s beer mug!
Any buddy else have weird hunting trapping traditions?

Any buddy else have weird hunting trapping traditions? I don't burden myself with too many rules, but as a rule I never drink (or eat) anything from a nut sack- tanned or otherwise. May sound corny to some, but I always thank the animal and God whenever I kill. That has always been a family tradition.

Yeah that was a quirk they had from before I went there, but it was amusing enough. I thank the animal and the spirits too. I also always have to have 3 shotgun shells in my left pocket, and 4 in my right when grouse hunting. No more, no less. I'll load up the pockets of my jacket but my pant pockets must be like that. also toasted egg salad sammiches on duck hunts. I'm very superstitious.

Well any of you fellows that are good at tearing motors completely apart, throwing the parts in a five gallon bucket of water to clean them, and putting it all back together need to head out this way when the water goes down as my son boated out yesterday and said these opportunities abound in logjams all along the Yentna. One lodge caretaker apparently abandoned his post down at Lake Creek and there is a whole yard full of boats swamped with all the Yamaha 4 strokes fixing to drown. He passed a mass exodus of water craft loaded with ATV's and other salvageables headed down river; some unable to get on step. I don't know what they're planning to do when they have to head up river on the Susitna. Lastly my wonderful prodigy fished me a nice plastic 55 gallon barrel out of the river for a present. What a son!

Dirt are you, well no sense in calling it the flood zone because lots of people are being flooded that are not in the flood zone. Are you within reach of any water besides rain? Not yet. Back from a river check. It dropped a foot from yesterdays peak. If the next rain cycle is anywhere near the last we will be the proud owners of river bottom property again. BTW Anybody know how long marten can tread water? P.S. Don't worry about me. I'm hard to kill. Update Alert! 30 miles up Skwentna River; Pouring Rain; 50 degrees and snow melting; River up a foot. Update Over!
