Wow looks like a big bear, too bad he was able to get as much meat as he did:(

KUSKO: do you set up the rebar rigs just like a cable with a weight at the end, or do you just drive the rebar into the bottom and stake down the trap side.

Thanks Mt and Ft.

AV, got lucky and hung that tarp in the thick timber. Was up most of one night listening to the howling wind and even heard two large trees snap of and shake the ground under us. At times there were four water falls coming off on it and never had to mess with it. Growing up in Wa. I learned a bit about hanging tarps in the rain however. It baffles me to see camps out on the main river with no tarps just tents. I guess its just what you are used to.

native, the boat is my brother in laws. They are impressive moving a load like that through inches of water, and it is also impressive to watch the gas gauge move so fast at the same time. They have their pros and cons but we could not have gotten to that area in any other boat until after the water came up.

Nice bear, Takotna! As close to the dog's house as it is, I'll bet that husky was awful glad to see you!
Nooksack, no kidding on the tarps. At least here in south-east, I can't imagine tent-camping without several tarps of various sizes.

Just doing what I want now.

The bear seemed healthy, squared at 7 1/2, not huge but boy I needed some big bait and now got it.LOL Not very thick hair. 2 days earlier my boy shot a sow griz when he went to close our moose camp up.

Here is a salmon recipe if you are looking for something easy and absolutely delicious... Even works on those nasty old white kings hup likes...
Panko salmon....
You can use regular Panko or one of the flavored ones like lemon pepper. Beat one egg, adding in a couple of tablespoons of water. Put about a half cup of Panko on a plate and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and season salt (to taste). Dip salmon in egg wash then coat both sides with Panco mix. Heat a quarter cup of olive oil in a cast iron skillet to about 350 (med hi). Preheat your oven to 425. When the oil in the skillet is hot place your salmon in meat side down and brown thoroughly. When browned gently lift it and turn it over and brown the skin side for a few minutes. Sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese and place the cast iron skillet w/ salmon in the oven. Cook on 425 for 20 to 30 minutes depending on the thickness. Remove from oven when it flakes. I use a 10 inch pan and a pound of salmon for two people. Works equally well on fillets or steaks. You will love it! My mom gave me the recipe a few years ago.

KUSKO: that it pretty slick, I would definatley rather carry a pice of rebar more than the 40lb weights I use now. I actually had a paraplegic beaver pull that 40lbs off the bottom a couple days ago!

Looks tastes pawpincher I will have to give that a try on a red this weekend.

akpp,

Huh, nice recipe. I bet my dog would love to eat the battered skin and fish instead of the healthy broiled kind he usually gets. I will share it with him

It's not batter its breading. My dog would have to fight my wife for the skin! grin

Do you think my dog would notice if I told him it was battered salmon, not breaded salmon? he is kind of a snob like that.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

More X-rays today and they look good. CT Scan tomorrow and if that's good I'm all done with the casts and braces. I hope I never do that again!

So, what did everybody buy with their dividends? I bought a snow plow for my ATV and a new back pack... the rest goes to long overdue truck repairs.

Oh yeah I forgot about the dividend.

Glad to see you're improving.
