I'm looking at your measurement here and it looks like your marten is 26" long. It is real hard to tell by the picture. The measurement not only goes to the base of the tail but the back must all come down to that point also. If the base of the tail is beyond where the back comes down to then the measurement is farther up. Again perhaps it is just the picture but I see daylight still at the 26" mark.

Ron, could be just the picture, not sure, either way it's over the XXL line.

Not a bad check out today at all.
Caught 2 marten (making 8), 2 weasels (making 30) and 2 snowshoe hare (making 6 total)





Christmas Holiday's start Friday. Have to finish some Christmas shopping in Winnipeg on Saturday (that will be fun) and then Sunday I will go check the traps again and perhaps set some beaver sets.

When you are taking fur into the NAFA depo check that they will be open on Saturdays.

Well I guess if your reading this you have so far survived the end of the world. Congratulations.

Anyway, last day of school today and me and POWER SNARER sanded down and made a few marten boards to the correct width.


Off to the city tomorrow to finish Christmas shopping, check sets on Sunday and will put out some under ice sets.

December 22,2012:

Christmas shopping is finally done for the year, what a fruit basket of a day it was in the city as well!

Will check all of the sets tomorrow and put some beaver sets out, some rat sets and some mink sets.
As soon as the coyote's start hitting a gut pile I will be setting snares up.

December 27, 2012:

Went out to the bush today to try and set up a new line. Much shorter then the one I had planned to go on, but competition took over there.
There was a decent amount of marten sign out there, got a half dozen sets out that I believe will produce.


That's providing I can catch any marten with all the squirrels around, here is one of many highways in the bush.
If anyone knows what the Deerfoot Trail is like in Calgary-Airdrie, AB this is much the same!


Next off there was a wolf peeing on a beaver hut.

An MB-750 awaits the return.

And finally the catch of the day, the most random mink I am yet to find, finally.
