Was just looking on the map and it looks like some nice country. Where do the registered lines start? Also keep up the good work

This is a very stupid question, but are you guys considered southern Manitoba, or just interlace region. I should know this but I don't.

January 1, 2013:

Wishing everyone who reads my journal a Happy New Year!

A little trapline update,
Skidoo currently has a frozen gas line, thinking it's at the Carbs. Gotta get it into the heated garage today and drain that all out and get some extra anti freeze into it.

Got out last night to pull what was left of the line I was trapping the last 2+ weeks, had to take the old bike and to say the least it was a frosty ride at -20 C. Skidoo should be back operating today though, will be able to make a run and check a few sets and hopefully pick up another marten. Other then that it's given me a chance to get caught up on the back log of fur handling which was about the only upside to the whole deal. Getting antsy for the auction in February.

If I manage to get out on the trapline later today I will throw an update on here. If not, Happy New Year and stay safe!

January 1, 2013 (2):

Ended up catching one weasel today. Also a squirrel in a mink set, the mink lunched on it.
Put a few more good blind mink sets out. Should result well.

January 4, 2013:

Got home late last night and didn't get a chance to post.

On the way to Winnipeg taking furs in yesterday I checked the half dozen coyote rams I had out. I haven't been out to check them since the 6-7" of snow we got the other morning.
Needless to say they weren't the right height for coyotes but the perfect height for jack rabbits...

So anyways today I gotta get back out and re set those two rams and lift the rest to the proper height. Then the plan is to head out and get some more traps set.
See how she goes.

More bait for the marten boxes.
One of the researchers on mink found the winter diet of mink one the prarie's was these, hard to believe they could take down a 8 pound rabbit

Right now don't have any out. Have had as many as 13 boxes out.

Lots are in marten sets, this one was in a Mink set.
