Was going to try to clean out my truck today and do a video also but it is now going to rain all day and appears all week so that has been put on hold.

I feel like I should go clean and organize my truck and garage.

Cool Video! I didn't realize that you could still buy Chloroform? I thought that it was banned in the 70s since it's such a nasty Carcinogen.

WTWC, the chloroform we use today is not the same stuff that you are thinking of. It's no longer flammable, and if someone snuck up behind you with a rag full of it and applied it to your nose, you would probably turn around cold-clock him.

The biggest problem, according to the old doctors that actually know about it, is kidney problems. Nobody I know uses ( and abuses ) more chloroform than I do. I just had a kidney panel and it is fine. ( Of course, my brain is still a bit iffy )

P.S. The price has gone way up. ( And we are almost out )

Hey Jake, Grainger sells a chemical resistant spray nozzle that lasts fairly long if you empty after using.

P.S. If you upload a picture of a garbage dump that would be the same as uploading pictures of our techs' vans.

Chloroform is chloroform--it's the same chemical today as it was in the past. Maybe some formulations of it have less impurities, depending on the intended use, but the basic chemical is the same.

And it is dangerous--anyone who uses it or is considering using it should really take a very serious look at it's dangers. Using a carcinogenic substance in your clients' homes and around your clients' kids is irresponsible in my opinion, and may be a legal liability for your company.

Using small quantities outdoors in a well ventilated area, may or may not be safe. But squirting animals with it in enclosed spaces is a huge risk that I wouldn't take.

Steve, glad you made that post! I should have said that myself. I don't want anyone else to use it either. ( I just hope that no one else who uses it, might disagree ) And if you watch television, it gets even more dangerous. We have had so many liability issues with this stuff that no one should be allowed to buy it. ( Especially in 55 gallon drums without any kind of a license )

Thanks for your opinion Steve. As much as I appreciate it, I have to say this isn't another Chloroform thread. We can discuss the pros and cons again on a separate thread if anyone wants to. The point is to see some of your trucks too. I would also be interested in what you guys don't see that you think I should have.

I apologize too, Jake. I drove two of the technician's vans today and I have to say that any animals riding in those vans are in more danger of catching some incurable disease than the driver would ever be.

Bolting hanger hooks on the back sides of your tool boxes would allow you to hang your long handles items like your nets and catch poles up and out of the way...
