Justin, the only problem is that years ago things like black bears and cougars in our part of Wisconsin was a myth. Today it's a fact.

UFO sightings seem to go up when the price of liquor goes down, too...
Justin, right again; no amount of facts/science can deter some people from spreading their favorite conspiracy theories/old wives' tales.
...have you seen the snakes that form themselves into a hoop and chase people by rolling downhill? Oh, yeah! My uncle's best friend's co-worker's neighbor seen it with his own eyes! Absolute fact, I ga-ron-tee it!

I've had them in my hands with folks literally seeing every inch of them and they still don't believe it might not be a rattler!

Early summer is a massive amount of "faux" rattler calls. Gotta love the conspiracy theory about people breeding these rattler free
rattlesnakes, takes me back to the people that would pull up next to our truck in MI and ask if we were tracking the grizzly or mountain
lions the govt. was breeding and releasing in the national forest there.

At first you smile and chuckle, till you realize they are serious and fully believe it to be true.

Then you move back inside the vehicle and slowly roll up the window......

Also love the folks out here who believe that fire several hundred miles away, is why they have a rattlesnake in their yard the first
time in 20 years... fun conversations...

Great list Albert!

Sure I told her about bull snakes but in her words "it's a fact that bull snakes chase away rattlers and you NEVER have both in the same area" and she also told me how well moth balls work.
And Saturday I get a call from a lady that found a coon kit in her backyard and they think it's sick because it's listless and coughing, probably distemper. I tell her $xx for me to pick it up and I will euthanize it. "OH I have to pay? We'll just take it down to the river and release it." So you're going to release an animal thats known to be sick and release it in a healthy population? "Let me talk to my husband I'll call you right back". I'm still waiting for the call back.

To Everyone: When discussing moth balls, you need to be absolutely certain that you and the customer are talking about the same thing.

Women of a certain hair color have been know to ask, "How do you get those little things off of the moths?"

Almost EVERY snake will shake their tail when in distress/cornered. I see it with rat snakes, corn snakes, and hognose. In the fall when there are dry leaves on the forest floor, every snake is suddenly a "rattler!" People are usually running away instead of actually making a proper ID.
