I use the same system for staking my DP's. I try to make sure they are tight around the tree so as to limit the movement up. Although I have been wondering when it would happen to me as well. LOL

Duke 1 1/2's should be enough. Set them up on a drowner rig system attached to a cement brick or something heavy that will hold them.

is it true that if you have a DP on a drag they will go up a den? I guess that would depend on your drag (if that's where they wanted to go). I usually use 20lb plates. They don't go anywhere lol
