I have caught dillos with several types of cage traps over the years. Mostly blind setting with barrier, directional guiding used to get them heading to the trap if they come rooting around.

I'm working a diller job that's driving me nuts. Set for over four weeks, using drift fence, 2-door Com's, worms/food crickets as bait.
Does the drift fence need to be solid, or is fence OK?
Is it a problem to use coon traps?
Definite continued activity/sightings.
Josh or Warrior - any ideas?

Solid is best but fence can work.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

I believe Airport Trapper has hit the nail right on the head with wooden traps !
The boss stopped the use of peanuts for trapping several years ago. I tried new squirrel bait and also the improved rabbit box ( solid wood trap ) along with a few wire cage traps for squirrels on the front porch.
The wood trap was the hands down winner. If i remember right it was 13 to 1 in favor of the wood. The wood trap was the smallest, after a while it began to stink, so I re set it empty and it continued to catch.
Stinky wood traps are my secret weapon for cage shy animals.
Every one should have a few wood traps or something that has the sent holding ability of wood.
Sorry about half off topic. But wood traps rock.
