Had a new bs trap dropped off with bigger springs this thing has some power now. Going to order some and try out . Biggest worry with old one was the ability to come through crust . Top pic is old one bottom pic is new one

I’m using the no BS traps and the wolf I caught this year in a trap was an awesome catch. High on the foot I was thinking when I walked up to it man I wish I had a camera to show Kendall how welll his trap worked!!

Thanks Team V. I sure enjoy running trail cameras, and never get tired of looking at bear pictures.

Hey TV, do you cut the pans down on your BS traps? I got a few of the 'yote version to try. Heavy duty traps, but seems like that huge pan might be a little overkill. Might trip the trap before the foot is in the sweet spot. Also, i think I might soften the inside corner of the jaws a bit. As strong as they are (coyote version) they might cause undue damage on a cat with the sharp edge.

Nice bear pics!

Are you referring to the canines extremes? I bought a dozen for wolverine last year, and cut about 1/2" off the end, then rounded the corners. Only had one encounter, but worked flawlessly.

Just doing what I want now.

Only problem I had with the trap was that being dog-less, the pivot point of the pan is very prone to freezing down.

Yes, canine extremes. The potential freeze down on the pan has been mentioned with this trap as well as with the Koros. No experience with either one yet. How did you try to prevent it, bed with dry moss or something, or just make sure your wax paper was wrapped around there?

Keeping traps in the ground working here is always a challenge, but the last couple of years, especially difficult. Little snow, but rain for days, then clearing and 50 plus mph wind for a week and zero degrees temps. The ground is then like a frozen rock. Chip out all the sets, bed in either dry moss or hemlock tip, cover with same. Weather repeats itself, and so do I.
