The BIG currently has over twice as many players in the NFL Hall of Fame of any other conference. The Big Ten currently has 47 Hall of Fame members.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Not according to President Trump's white house. LOL. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, on Tuesday, applauded Southeastern Conference teams, Alabama and Georgia, as “two great football teams in the greatest conference in the country" during a press briefing.

Come on Riverotter you know better, the Hall of Fame members played football way before anyone was a knee taker. It wasn't I that started the NFL stuff, you SEC fans were bragging how many players that are in the NFL played in the SEC. If we want to talk about total strength of a conference how about going 7 and 1 in bowl games. That shows strength through out the whole conference not just the top couple teams.

Wonder what conference the majority of knee takes come from in the NFL ? Must be stats somewhere . What schools did the knee takers come from ?

The SEC spends about 163,000 per athlete in their programs. So if they graduate roughly 40% of their football players they spend a tad over 400K to graduate a football player. The Big 1 spends about 120k per athlete and they graduate about 82 % of their football players so the Big 10 spends about 140 k to graduate a football player. Now I will admit we have not been on the top tier for a decade or so but when I look at where we stand in the top 25 and what we spend to graduate a football player athlete I can easily and willingly accept where we are at and I am guessing that the 90% of the collegiate football players in both conferences that attend college would hope that the university they attended would be able to be cost conscious about how they spend money and also looking out for their athletes long term futures.
Bryce Yes but because of the TV money paid to conferences you can throw that out the window. The sec is paid so much and have done so well in football that billionaires just gave them their own network. That is why so many schools want to be part of the SEC. Plus you math logic is way off. The conferences are spending what you have quoted for EACH player that graduates. Plus are you talking all athletes or only football on the amounts spent? . Then quoting the number of football players that graduate? You big 10 guys have a bar to reach and the way you play in the play-offs it will be decades before you can reach it. Not bashing the big 10 or other conferences just stating the facts... How much revenue do you think this 2 sec team play-offs will generate for this conference. MILLIONS !!!! I'm sure there will be an obvious number released but I'm talking about future and non highlighted monies that may show up in the near future.

Your a funny feller, a regular Johnny Carson. "We (Big 10) might never win but we have more good players than you do" So if that makes you feel better that's OK. SEC SEC SEC

Well I'm shocked. You mean that our education systems are wasting money. I can't believe it. (Sarcasm) I will never understand this obsession with football. I'd rather watch my grass grow than watch a football game. But you fella's sure are entertaining on here when it comes to football discussions. It's as fun as listening to my buddies argue about Alabama and Auburn.

I'm not surprised ShaneT. We got the most thugs in the SEC.

Nittany, I think your premise is flawed in regard to which conference is dominant now or over the past decade. The Hall of Fame only reflects the distant past given that the players have to finish their NFL careers and then, years later, perhaps be nominated to the HOF. Also, some players are not very successful in college, but become dominant in the NFL. Tom Brady, a certain future Hall of Famer, comes to mind. The numbers you cite do however say a lot about times past, and how things have changed.

I hate Bama but it's funny to read the posts from other folks trying to justify why their conference is NOT playing for the national championship.........AGAIN.

Bryce So they shell out 120 K ( 140k total) on one ball player that sit at home and watches the NC on TV because their not smart enough to beat out ball players who has a 40% graduation rate? And these schools will justify throwing 140K up a wild hog butt on a ball player in a program that can't even take a little crystal from a bunch of loosers who only has a 40% grad rate compare to highly intelligence 82% grad rate athletes. Interesting.
