There seems to be a lot of misconceptions flying around regarding our sale, by both shippers and folks that have never been here.

So to set the record straight,

We don't "grade" fur, we lot fur. Your fur if requested is broken down into lots. If you send 30 coyotes we will separate them first by heft (flat, commercial, semi heavy, heavy) then split them into pales and darks. each of those piles becomes one of YOUR lots. No one else fur. If there are 50 coyotes in the pile we may break them down into "coat lots" furs that match a little closer.

We have some guys that send 30+ coyotes and say sell it as 1 lot rubs, lights, darks, etc.
We don't segregate fur by state, as it comes in, it's lotted and goes on the racks Texas next to Montana next to Colorado etc. Our Coyotes by state report is based on where the coyote was shipped from not necessarily where it was harvested. We can edit this if the shipper tells us where they actually came from. If a Florida trapper goes to
Wyoming to trap. Those coyotes will show as Florida coyotes unless a note is made.

Each buyer pulls the lot inspects it and assess' his value on those pelts. the only information they have is specie and quantity nothing else. Their price is based on what they see at that time.

Cats,
We tend to sell cats as singles unless instructed otherwise. This allows the buyers to pick and choose the ones they want.

We don't look at tags to decide eastern from western. It is based on fur quality to try and generate a more accurate average (we have had buyers tell us to move cats for the sake of the average). There were eastern cats that brought more than westerns and westerns that brought less than easterns. But again the buyer ultimately sets a value. If by mistake we put a January Nevada cat on the eastern rack. It will still bring western value. and vice versa.

We have guys handling your fur that have been at it along time. We take great pride in offering our shippers and buyers a fair and honest opportunity. Each year we take strides to improve the reputation we have amassed in 30+ years in the business. We have no desire to be a NAFA or FHA, our desire is to allow the fur harvesting/buying folks the ability to learn about fur pricing on an equal playing field. No inter sorting, no hidden fees, no bait and switch. Your fur sold as your fur from your area.
Those of you that want to come see fur from different regions the door is always open the staff is there to help and the food is always good. Thanks and I hope this clears thing up, Todd Fairchild 30+ year Auction Grunt

We still have room for fur and antler if your interested. Get in touch with me.
We also have drivers offering to help get fur here, There are drivers coming in on the I-70 corridor from Missouri.
down I-80/I-76 and a pick up agent in the Salt lake city area. All are willing to help for a little gas money.

As Todd has stated we offer lotting IF the shipper requests it. Dividing a shippers lot into somewhat graded piles will usually improve the overall average of what was sent because it allows a buyer or end user to bid on exactly what they want, that's how you sell fur for more money. The analogy that I like to use is, if you go to the grocery store and had to buy everything that is on the shelf to get the item you want, you would probably want to pay less for everything or go somewhere else. Coyotes for example have markets for heavy's, some folks want semi's, some want good color, some may have a good market for commercial quality, or some may just want soft fur. Selling someone what they have the best market for or want the most is almost always the best way to get the most money for that item. You have the freedom to choose if you want this sale to sell it all together, or as somewhat graded and lotted skins, all as your fur. This is a very well run and organized sale with dedicated volunteers that have had many years of experience doing this.

Great Scott!!!! No, no flux involved. It was too heavy. . . there's that word "heavy" again. Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?
