One casualty today. It looks flat around here until you find an open ditch. 18 year old boy with balls of steel came from one side and hit the other at an angle. He's all good but shook up thinking his dad is gonna kill him. Put your helmet on. His was scratched up bad and busted the front lower part of the face shield. Bet he is gonna be sore.

Glad the boy is alright, he's young and will heal fast. He'll be askin you if you got it all fixed so he can ride by Tuesday. Lol

I believe its totaled. The tunnel is even bent. That's a death sentence. I'm gonna call his dad in a bit and check on the situation. It even broke the drive clutch.

Not one popper in the house. I was sure a 10 pack was left over from last year.

My boy is down the road at the neighbors. I heard what I thought was fireworks. Went out to look and seen nothing. Might have been an ak47 practice run, I don't know for sure. Dogs are still busted up about it.

I just go in. My phone says its -5 out there. I'm behind on my wood splitting and split some for the night real quick. Its old pin oak that is board straight without knots. One hit with the ax and it goes flying. You have to work it from the outside in. Of course everyone that knows this that does it. My log splitter won't budge in this cold. I wouldn't expect it to. My 15 year old truck doesn't like this stuff either. It has a block heater that is a must.
I got into something cool today. 1940 Chevy that neede a little love. The gas in it was old. We drained it and put some fresh gas in it. Put a new battery in it that was not like replacing a battery in a 2000 Chevy. Its under the passengers feet and you have to take the floor pan out. This truck has no rust holes. Pitting might have been skim coated but no holes. The frame is crazy smooth. 18,000 will take it home. Got to see to believe.
I have 6 of these to rebuild. They have pins that they pivot on. These pins go through a set of needle bearings that are drove in carefully.
They pivot and follow the ground on a piece of farm equipment.
Its a 50 or 55 foot field culitavater for leveling dirt.

Tough staying warm. They say the heat is in the work. Its cold enough lately I can't work hard enough to keep it away. Saw a sign at the Sunoco gas station in the area that read hiring. Makes ya think.

I was hung. I was pushing way to much. The plow folds over to protect itself from this kind of thing. When this happens the truck flies up on top of what your trying to push. I was hung good enough all 6 tires were off the ground about a foot. I did it 3 more time at a big barn. This time I had my boy come and pull me off. The other 3 I had to shovel out from under the truck.

We probably got 4 to 5 ish Johnny. 40 mph winds gathered it up in spots. It was hard packed.

Truck wash Saturday. Put this plow up for the year... Maybe.

More snow and the wind got up. I was back out in zombie mode for 12 more hrs. I'm about done with it. I'm in packing it away mode. Probably get pounded again because of it. But I need my sanity for now. Its 43 and I'm getting the tanning lotion out. Log splitter should start. 12 pack and some man work should put me in the right frame of mind.

How does the Hobart do in regards to your type of work? I have a champion elite and have considered trying to save up enough money to upgrade but haven't been ab,e to justify it. Its got 550 hours and just looking for your opinion over the long haul.

I've had the Hobart for 12 years now. I don't think a thing about just firing it up and welding or running tools. I always figure ill buy something more fancy when it gives me troubles. I didn't figure it was gonna last this long because it was half the price. Lol
