I'm always impressed with how guys will rough it like you are, hang in there and don't let your toes get cold. Oh and better send the Mrs. of yours a note about first of April, let her know things are juuuust fine.

That is how I bed in snow but I put hulls under the trap where the levers and jaws touch the ground as I have had them still freeze down with just the wax paper. I take one piece of wax paper and wrap the trap in it. I use to use the hulls on top also but when the sun is out the hulls pick up heat and melt the snow on top saying don't step here. Nice camp. I like to rough it also at ours. What kinda of wax paper you using? Them yotes keep digging up my paper.

You might have contaminated paper or they might be able to feel it's an air pocket between the pan and paper. Make sure your paper is crumpled up real well before covering the pan. Perhaps change paper and see if you have any luck?

I crinkle it up in a ball before I use it so it has wrinkles in it so it helps from the snow blowing off of it. Are your traps clean?
