I/We did it. My son Logan and I are getting into trapping and have had traps out for about 2 to 3 weeks now with zero results. We checked our traps yesterday afternoon and didn't get out today. I was going to go check them in the morning. At 1700 this afternoon I got a call from the farmer. His grandson went for a ride with his 4 wheeler and saw a coyote in one of our traps. It's the first animal that we've ever trapped. She's a beautiful female which I will tan and hang on my wall. I personally want to thank my dad Barry Strickland for his confidence in me and his effort to keep me patient. Also I'd like to thank Mike Wojtach, Robby Gilbert of Trapping Time TV for the great show, and everyone else who may have played a part in our first bit of success.

Thanks guys! It's really pretty. Going to tan it and hang it on the wall.

Congratulations! My primary reason for trapping was to create a way for my son and I to spend time together. I remember our first trapped coyote. I also remember our first called one together. He leaves for the Army this June after he graduates high school so we may have trapped our last coyote together for a while. I built a lot of memories with that kid. You will too. Now keep at it.

Badgerman, that's exactly what I was thinking also. We will certainly remember this moment forever. Thank you to you also for raising an American hero. My time in the Army Infantry was some of the greatest times of my life. Good luck to him.

Two to three weeks to catch your first coyote? I have trapped them for a number of years and I wished that the average of each catch only took 2-3 weeks. Now don't get a big head and think you will catch one every 2 weeks. Carl, if I'd have known that it'd be this easy I'd have started years ago. Lol Just kidding of course. I'm sure that these animals will help me remain humble.
