We heat our house and domestic water with an outside wood boiler, year round. I cut and process all my own wood, my only costs are running the saw, splitter and truck. Buy propane every few years, when the pig gets down to 35% or so. The propane that we burn, is when I shut down the boiler for any maintenance or to take a vacation in mid summer.

How many gallons did you get? Pretty much everyone pays the same amount for a gallon of oil but propane is a different animal. It's all based on your consumption. Use more, pay less. That can be significantly less depending on how many gallons you're going through.

Propane just went up $1.00 a gal. Here! $3.79 per gal. Talk about gouging!

I had a camp that fell to me from my great aunt. I called to have the propane bottle filled and the company informed me the regulator was out of date and would need to be replaced. Fine, go ahead.

They did and put a new bottle out there as well. I went ten years on that new tank and regulator before I needed gas again. They are going to recoup their money one way or another.

Had my propane tank filled 2 or 3 weeks ago. The price on my bill was $1.70, but if I paid it within 2 weeks they knocked off $.20 a gallon. Yes I paid it off before the 2 weeks was up.
