What I mean is there are alot of theories out there that one must do this or must do that.I was simply saying, coyotes can be caught with urine and bait that is not in a dark cool place.

tbn is on to something. I keep all the baits and lures I use on a shelf in my shed, it gets hot in the summer. I didn't buy much new this year as I had lots of leftover some over 5yrs old. It has been working just like the new stuff.

The bait I use was made around 2008 and sits every year in the same conditions as will again this year. I think anything that needs to be kept in controlled conditions would raise an eye brow.I see there is even a dealer now marketing frozen fresh urine, likely because of all the belief that it has to be that way. I would take advantage of the masses too but I don't care to market a bunch of crap.A squirt of this Fresh urine,it sits in 70 degree windy weather for 3 days and a coyote comes by,it really isn't fresh anymore is it?

I’m not a chemist, don’t know how many lure makers are chemists but would think very few. I don’t think you have to be a chemist to understand that the sun changes things. Put a brown bottle of beer and a clear bottle of beer in the sun for two months and then compare the two of them next to beer from the same package that’s been kept in a dark place.

No ,I know we are not talking about beer here ! Your statement about three day old urine in 70 degree weather don’t hold water. That coyote knows it’s three days old and will mark over it same as if it was a month old . Take that same urine and set it in the sun in a clear bottle this summer and when you crack the cap next fall it will smell like sewer gas. It won’t matter then how many seventy degree days you get , that coyote will not mark over it !

My point is if the lure or bait maker tells me to keep his product out of the sun and or not let it get too hot, I’m going to do as he suggests! I don’t know who made your bait in about 2008 tbn and it may continue to improve, some things do ! I can tell you this , it will change with time, sun or no sun heat or no heat but unless you made it I don’t believe you could be qualified to call Hocus Pocus !
