Hey guys.

Curious as to what your fox snare setup looks like. Got a few lately in my coyote/wolf snares and they arent dispatching them. Neck caught, 3/32 7x7 and toothed cams. Eight foot snare anchored high. I know 1/16 wire will help for fox.

Whats your dispach fox snare look like?

I run the same snares for fox and yote, right now a majority of them are 1/16 1/19 cable, slim loc, 285 BAD, 10 inch loop, set 7 inches up (tip of pinky to tip of thumb) I like the set up.

I would be willing to bet that if your getting them in wolf and yote snares that the loc is going far back on the neck, and no matter what type of loc it will fur up.

Make your jackpots in the tight spots for fox with good entanglement.Short snare and tie off, small loop about 6 or 7 inches.I use either 1x19 or 7x7 with a cam or adams lock(proper size hole for wire),6 inches off the ground.I always set 8 snares at jackpot so I know how many to check for at every spot. You will have them dispatched quickly, and no waterheads.

Same set will get you all the cats that visit.

Thanks guys.

Rob, so you use short snares and short wire to attach them eh. I use long anares anchored high for coyote. With the extended fisher season now I am going to be switching from fall fisher trapping to winter, so I can catch fisher in the same places I snare fox. With fisher around, setting fox snares sucks because you clean up all the fisher in uncertified fisher sets. Now the hope is I can get the fisher in conis and some fox too.

Although with the impending wolf/ coy ban on the horizon there wont be many fox to catch in the future
