I'm still trying to conibear a Squirrel. I tried carrots on the 120 triggers. Now I have Walnuts on the triggers. Still nothing.
What can I mount to the triggers ? Little seeds obviously don't work for trigger bait.
Just a weekend trapper...

Chunky peanut butter works for me.
Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

Smear peanut butter on the trigger and stick sunflower seeds and corn kernels on it. ^^this, after twisting triggers together, since it holds PB better. I also thread a 1"x3" pc of sponge onto triggers and smear PB on that.

I stopped using body grippers when I learned to snare them. There is a great thread in the archives.

Use a pan trigger trap with the bait just past the pan so the squirrel is standing on the pan while working the bait.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I use a plywood box a little bigger than the #110. !\2" hardware cloth (screen) on the back so they can see thru it. A few pecans work at my place. Don't forget to anchor the trap some way.

I watched one circle the plywood box. Look inside. Circled around, but he refused to enter. They are curious critters; but this one was apprehensive about a new box. I'm going to add peanut butter tonight. Maybe the scent will tease him in....

I angled a 2x4 against our bird feeders post. Running pole. I used 110 with great success.
Short Track, if you are not trapping at bird feeders, try running pole (no bait) on trees Squirrels use. Yepper works pretty slick..
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

Dry land mink line will work We caught 4 in less than a week on the mink line Actually sending two to the tannery, they were prime
Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!
If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

running pole, body gripper on pole peanut butter smeared up the pole each side of body gripper they get so engrossed with licking it all up they follow it up the pole and snap the trap as they lick it all off the pole, dont use bird seed on it as they have to stop and think about chewing the seed, just a smear of pb up the pole, threw the trap

Best way I know is to find a big log crossing a creek. Set a couple on the log for mink. Come back the next day and you will have your squirrels.

Mount the coni on a vertical tree, like a climbing marten set, using a clip or whatever. Slide chloroplast or cardboard on the trigger wires, so it makes a horizontal platform. Like making a pan trigger without bending the wires. Put bait on platform or on tree above. Heck throw bait on the ground below. Squirrels love to find platforms to roost on while munching. He’ll hop on the platform you made for him and fall right through. Maybe even get a full suitcase All that said, Ron’s tutorial on snaring squirrels works great too.

Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.
