Any southern guy tappin yet. I started last week end. Did my first boil last night. Weather don't look good for the next week for sap flow here.

My dads big into it and i help him a little bit, its cold now but he thinks saturday we will get a quick flush

Think unless there is some big temp swing we are weeks away here yet. My buckets are still up in the garage haven't even dragged them out for a rinse.
Did have some of last years syrup on my pancakes this morning.

know of a couple guys that boiled during our short warm up here.

Here in these parts, most of us tap on or around Valentines Day. So....just a few weeks away if it ever decides to warm up.

Collected 30 gallons then the weather went south.

As always, the weather dictates when I tap, but I don't expect to be getting ready for another four weeks yet. Around here, average is first week to mid March to mid April. This has been a pretty cold winter here and if the trend continues, probably mid March before I tap.

We tapped a week ago Friday, collected almost 100 gallons of sap last weekend and made two gallons of syrup so far. We're just a hobby operation and we're hoping to break our record of 18 gallons of syrup. Last couple of years, it got warm too quick and we only have been able to make 7 gallons of syrup. It looks to be a promising year so far.

This was about 60 gallons of sap.

Doesn’t good here for another 10-14 Days . Can’t wait as we just upgraded to new 2x8.

How many GPH will that boil off?

No RO. Depending on sugar content, 50 -60.

It only take me about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to do that much. lol What did you have before?

2x4. I can put out 400 plus buckets. In the past I have sold excess sap.

Are you running vacuum?

No just buckets.

Yea. Have about 80 out. That's about all I can keep up with after work with my setup.
