Anyone with a Mini-30 or Mini-14 that could take a pic of its bolt ? In particular the side and bottom of the left locking lug. I have a blued one that has a good amount of filing in that area and am curious if thats something the factory did or if someone filed it for some reason. Ive looked at pics online and cant find any clear pics of that area. Thanks.

I have a 1988 vintage mini 30 and it has a scope, so hard to get at this area without disassembly, but it is blued and shows only some slight wear patterns. No file marks. I suspect "bubba" has been at work............

Maybe post a pic of the problem and that might be easier? Lots of parts on a mini.

It be better if you posted pics of yours as LD said.

I'd ask on the Ruger forum at www.go2gbo.com AND the Rugerownersforum

Google is your friend.

To see the area in question the bolt would have to be removed from the gun. With the bolt removed you would be looking at the side of the left locking lug on the bolt. You cant see see this area with the bolt in the gun because it is hidden in the channel in the receiver. I will try to borrow a good camera and get a picture. Im assuming this was factory fitting with a file, but ruger says they dont do that ? Idk ? The gun is older , made in 1989-90.
