that looks like a bite wound that got infected. the hair slips in those areas of damage

Seriously? It's obviously not infected the wound is fresh. It looks like a bite or shot. I don't think pictures like this are a good idea at all. Too easy to use against us. My 2 cents.

It looks like a bite wound.Cats lick the hair off areas like that.I've seen it in mountain lions around non-lethal bullet wounds.They constantly lick the affected area with their barbed tongue and it doesn't take long before the area is bare.

How many 3 legged cats you guys ever see?
Kind of gives a guy ideas how well they do with any kind of infection imo.

Taximan, I think you hit the nail on the head. I will go with your assessment.

Red mt, in my 43 years of trapping I have never seen a three legged bobcat.
