NY and CA and the 1994 assult weapons ban all define them differently
the issue is people don't even understand that removing the bayonet lug , permanently fixing or removing he muzzle device and or capping the magazine capacity at 10 does nothing to end school shootings.
they would jump all over me for suggesting that a person of another gender or color should change anything about their appearance but they attack a rifle entirely based on it's appearance.
Yes I find it some what uneasy when the guy standing at the Urnal next to me is dressed head to toe as a woman but it doesn't make him/her a violent killer or even a bad person they just like to dress that way. DITTO the angle of the grip makes my wrist feel better , why do you fear a nub on the bottom of the front sight tower , or a muzzle device that does not make the gun any quieter.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Made me think I have had ARs for many years and never owned a bayonet and never shot anyone with it either! Can't remember off hand ever seeing a practical use for one or anyone else using one not even as a display.
All mine have the lug, it seems like a non-starter of a threat item.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

have any of you ever seen a fiskars shovel or garden fork they look Different they are not your fathers wood an metal shovel , they have metal handles shafts with plastic grips oversized pads to put your foot on , and are finished in black
the first time someone sees oen they generally say what is that thats a strange looking shovel , then they try it , place to put 2 hands at once , not cutting into your foot as you step it down , study handle , leave it out in the rain and the handle doesn't swell or crack
the AR-15 is the evolution of making an ergonomic rifle that did what it's wood stocked counter parts did but made it easier to carry , gave it the ability for people of all sizes to adjust the stock for their height , it is ergonomic like a fiskars shovel , it looks different than other guns much the same way a fiskars shovel looks different than a traditional wood handles shovel but since when is ergonomics a bad thing , less stress on the user greater flexibility between users , ,more easily serviceable. modular lower maintenance , weather stable

The definition of an assault rifle that cracks me up and I've heard several times is: "Well you know, one of those guns that goes Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha"

At a local coffee shop I have been hearing a lot of talk about banning "Assault Rifles." When asked to define an "assault rifle" not one in ten can give an answer. My next question is "How are you going to ban something when you don't know what it is?" I hate it when I irritate a liberal, NOT.
That's awesome. Funny you brought this up; last night I was watching Louder With Crowder video called "I'm pro gun change my mind". It was a sit down talk with college students 1 on 1. Around an hr long but he schools them
The video has the same conclusion as you.

One thing that bans, and regulations CAN do is spur innovation. There really hasn't been very much meaningful innovations in firearms for decades. Nothing spurs American ingenuity more than being told they can't do something.

Yep, you'd think CA legislators would get the hint. Somebody always finds an innovative way to exploit a loophole...
