One does not exclude the other. There is a S&W 5906 in there as well

the question would be , if you build it as a pistol even a 16 inch barrel pistol can you keep it loaded or do you wish to?

I have a 16 inch 300 black out it is a great 150 yard round drops 1.5 minutes at 200 yards with 110gr v-max

you can cut your old 223 brass down and get more use from it.

that said my truck gun is an old 12ga I gave 75 dollars for I just can't see leaving big money in my truck I don't even leave it in the truck anymore because my daughter likes to borrow my truck and take it to school and I don't need her getting in trouble.

I have my carry gun , if I am going someplace I may bring something else with.

Ok got a question . Don't know the exact regs and too late to look them up. But what is different about this versus the gun that you guys wanted to send a women to prison over. (SBR law.

Looks to me like a rifle . Has a stock and a forearm. Where I'm from that's a rifle.

that is a pistol that is a brace not a stock , as ruled by the ATF you get a copy of the approval letter from the ATF with each one you buy abd it is printed right on it "pistol Brace" , hey they make stupid rules we just follow their insanity so we don't end up in the hot seat like her.

She cut a rifle down

we are building a pistol with a brace that was either purchased as a pistol or as an "other" then built as a pistol.

you clearly can't take a rifle and cut it down to a pistol.

for me in Wisconsin the difference is that I fill out a Wisconsin pistol form in addition to a 4473 for the fed and pay the 10 dollar state additional background check fee for "handgun" or "other" but other than that we need no permit or purchase license or anything like that.

oh and since it is a handgun it gets to stay loaded in the truck.

basically it keeps persons under 21 form purchasing them at a store.

I keep a handgun handy just in case a snake wants to eat me. During fur gathering time I'm never very far from a 22-250 bolt action. Carried a 270 all winter for years. I only had two hi-powers. 30-30 and that 270. Have to sew everything you shoot and some stuff aint repairable. 22-250 will all but destroy fox though. My little 22 hornet is a real slick fox killer but coyotes more than a hundred yards away are just too far for me to shoot at with it. At a hundred I won't shoot if I'm not sure the bullet is going to hit the heart or brain.(on coyotes) Fox ill take the shot out too 200 yards. They die so much easier than a coyote. Same with a bobcat.

So anyway there aint no perfect truck gun but I sure did like that window gun rack. Kept hearing about theft so quit carrying that way.

still have that old 270. still a mighty fine deer/elk/bear rifle. loaded these up after work yesterday. same recipe I always use. 130 grain sierra boat tails and 55 grains of imr4350. load is an old classic and still works good.

The 'ideal' truck gun is going to very depending on your intended usage.

Hope you wind up with a nice one scuba but I am pretty sure that you will.

Ye just never know. I have an axe in the truck. I am not planning on building a fire on the shoulder of I 95 to make a pot of coffee, but its in there all the same. First aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc. Half the stuff in there is in there in the hope never to get used. But better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Same applies to a truck gun I guess.

What no answers. Think it may "really" be used just like a "stock"

Nope you can't use it like a stock as it is a pistol and you would then break the law. Probably for not having the paperwork for an SBR and a couple of other things.

So its a brace .... you can rest that against your forearm but not your shoulder.
