I've heard this song a few times over the years, lately the radio has played it several times, so I looked up the lyrics, lol pretty crazy song. I looked up the meaning of the words, I like this song, 30 years old now. I looked at Steve Earl's earlier music, it sounded like Irish folk music

Steve Earl is big in Europe. He may still tour there, I’m not sure. Guitar Town is a good one too.

Copper Head Road was a cool song for some, but for those who live where moonshining and shine running was and is a reality, they usually don't romanticize it...In other words real moonshiners aren't into it...Lol.

This is back in the day with Steve at Guy, and Sue Clarks place. The whole heart worn highways group. I knew Towns, and met Guy, and Suzanne, but never got to met Steve. Good music, and a little whisky to boot. LOL

Copper head road for sure, had that song memorized, and was a fun/loud song to drink beverages too. Dark nights, pretty women, and now I feel old at the ripe age of 31.
