Thanks for the comments. I enjoy sharing what i can. Johnnytrapper- i will eventually write a book of short stories. Im going to call it "a bear ate my oranges" after staying up for 40 something hours, 20 + of those hours on skidoo lookimg for a bear all i wanted was to make it back to camp and eat my frozen mandarin oranges. Turns out a smaller bear ate them and chewed on my sled.

Ryan I love the way you tell your stories. You should compile these into a ebook. Bet you'd sell a few. It's not often I sit down and read though 39 pages of a post! Your pictures are the cherry on top. I second this. happy to help edit.

Go pro battery died last weekend mid trip. I was cleaning up the camp and set a few rat traps too. I wanted to do a step by step picture story of rat trapping in the delta. Weird houses again this year. They are more snow and ice than vegetation with thin walls. Lots of rebuilding when the pushups are like that. First step is always soaking the whole thing so it could freeze solider over night. Any dead houses need to be taken for the building material too. The few rats I caught were big and healthy. I was wondering where the big weasel disappeared to. It was feeding on some bait in my camp yard the previous trip but there wasn’t even tracks around. Found the weasel frozen solid hung up in a deep fork of a skinny willow. Poor bugger was caught by the hips. Hopefully I’ll get a picture next trip if it’s still there.

Its gone from -30c to +8c in a week. Bears are waking up and geese are on my mind. Good luck and be safe this spring guys. No room for getting complacent out there.

Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.
