No one has ever been able to prove whether my surname is Irish or Scottish... It's very unusual and hard for most folks to pronounce correctly on the first try... But it has proven to be untraceable thus far.

So my ancestors were either illiterate and screwed up the spelling, or someone was fleeing a warrant... Likely both. Lol

Funny thing. Growing up, my mom's mother always said she was scotch/Irish or scotch , Irish and German. Her mother was an Irwin, her father was a Simon, don't know which whas which or who was what .

Mike in A-Town you never did say your name. And as far as Irish and Scottish there are a lot of similarities and it sound like your lineage was lost in the shuffle unless you can come up with a town where you had relations
