The high school girl and her friends are in a bit over their heads and she is loving the attention.
If we gun owners do not offer real solutions, such as demanding that people who break gun laws are punished-every time-getting rid of some guns will be the only target in their sights.
Simply telling these kids and their parents that their ideas are stupid is not going to work this time. How about instead of stupid we say ineffective? If I was one of these kids who wanted to effect real change I would carefully study the root causes... But that takes effort and maybe a little introspect. It's much easier to not think for yourself and just regurgitate an agenda, whether it's effective or not. Mike

Racerboy I don't think the girl Emma is stupid. I expect in reality she is just the "talking head". Her daddy is an attorney. Wonder what her daddy's political leanings are?

Well being a senior I figure I should share my experience.
My school had a walk out. I estimate about 300 kids participated out of 1,200 students. My school is majority republican. (We had a mock election and Trump won with 45% of the vote.) Considering that it was during class time, there were a lot of kids who only walked just to get out of class. The school admin stated it was to remember those lost and speak out against school violence. But obviously this was just stated that way to make them seem bipartisan. The students were obviously walking to demostrate against guns. It is blatantly political, no doubt about it. They never walked out for anything else. Students should not be allowed to “walk-out” and have protests that disrupt the school environment. If the student body decided to do a “wear red to protest school violence” fine.
My friends and I were going to walk with signs supporting the 2nd amendment. But decided not to for two reasons: we didn’t want to be considered disrespectful to the kids who died (even though it wasn’t really about that), and also because it was during my woodshop class (where I value my education). Rather than protest the protest, I joined the NRA and I will be wearing my NRA hat to school.

Mike For sure and bring your assault rifles for some shooting fun. I bet all these kids protesting use their cell phones while driving which kill more innocent people in a year than gun violence in schools. Hand them scary looking things in

Those phones also need to be better regulated. Mandatory waiting period and age limit to buy one. Limited number of texts because, why does anyone need more than 10 texts at a time? Heck, might as well also start a phone buyback program to get these things off the street. This made me laugh. Let's get some banners made up. Lol
