Mitchel Simpson set the school up. It was everything I expected since New Mexico lets us keep lions we trap I wanted to get some ideas from people who have dealt with them a lot. All of them have the smarts and the language to get their point across with the coyotes I picked up on a lot of things I wasn't really doing wrong I was ignoring stuff the animal was showing me, being able to watch other trappers set traps really helps!

I still find red dirt in clothing, sunglasses, and my teeth from riding in those buggies down there.....and that was two years ago!

Looks like a blast....Mitchell is a great host......wish I could have made it down.

Even if you cant make the school, a horse ride through the palo duro is awesome. If you do it in the hot weather, obviously watch for snakes

I have had a blast the last two weeks with both classes, what a great group of guys. We had 3 cats today. Zagger that canyon does exist in one mans mind.

hard to picture that big marine driving a Prius or a moped but rumor has it he does both.great pics guys and remember i'm in next years pics.

Hey, we mere mortals on earth can get a star named after someone or ourselves......I took a shorter, easier road and had a canyon named after me......maybe it will catch on and you can market certificates of authenticity? Great idea!

Correct! Grass clippings in Texas would just get eaten by all the hogs running around down there!

Palo Duro is a canyon in Texas just south east of Amarillo. Wayne Derrick, Andy Weiser and Gary Jepson held a trapping school there this March (week 2 is ongoing right now) I was able to go to week one, was one of the best experiences of my life and some of the best money I ever spent

O and not just anyone can trap it, you gotta pay to play

The TX game and parks told me there is no trapping allowed on the park itself.

The property the school is held on is private property and it is about an hour southeast of the national park accoring to google maps.

And a retired fireman has all of the bordering ranches sewed up.....LOL

Next year for sure, have to tell Cletus I might have to miss the TWIN!
