Last January I caught my first Bobcat on a trip to Kansas. I contacted a taxidermist that I knew could get cats right while I was still in Kansas. When I Took the cat to him I really wanted to incorporate a real hedge tree post like the ones near where I caught the cat. If you have been to Kansas you know what I am talking about. He told me that he had some hedge posts that he picked up on a hunting trip to Kansas so it couldn't have worked out any better.

Here are some pics of the cat when I caught it.

Here is some of the Hedge pole fence next to where I caught the cat. The tracks are the first sign I found of cat and probably the one I caught.

The Taxidermist knocked it out of the park in my Opinion.

While we were there we began adding trap tags to some of the hedge posts where we were trapping. I am going to add trap tags to the hedge pole in the mount.

Here are some tags we added that year.

This year we continued the tradition.

I was fortunate enough to catch another cat this year so we took pics with the new trap tags on the post.

When I get the mount in the final resting place and have the tags added I will take some more pictures

We get to look at a lot of crappy taxidermy on T-man. Lots of folks just tell the poster their new mount looks good.... because they don't want to hurt the guy's feelings!

In this case, your mount really does look good! Congratulations for taking the time to select a good taxidermist to work on your cat. Cats are difficult to mount well. From bobcats to lions.

Very nice mount. The face is done right which seems to be where most problems occur.

I'd say the taxidermist did a fantastic job. That is a great looking cat mount.

That is first class work on your bobcat. The ears are often overlooked on predators and those are about perfect. It takes a lot of work and care to get there. It doesn't happen by accident.

Very nice mount Mark!

Some of those hedge post fence lines are a work of art in their own rights as well.

Harold, the farmer told us some of the hedge posts were put in by his grandfather 100 years ago.
