Got a project I have been avoiding for quite a while. We converted our old furnace room to a kitchenette and have no ventilation in the room. There is no outside wall to get to. We do have the furnace stack still in place, about 16 or more feet to the top. I tried an 8 inch in line fan, you can see the power outlet installed next to the fiddly. Soot came through the fan from the stack so I put a simple mushroom cap on the end of the fan to catch the fallout. It doesn't pull enough, friends mentioned that steam probably won't clear the stack, condense on the sides and goop back down.
Any simple cheap ideas to finish this off? Its just a summer type rental and we don't want to break the bank. Thanks

You have a tough one here to go that far.

Maybe a shroud with a small fan with pvc pipe with a t allowing the moisture to go down to a floor drain.

To explain better.

Place a shroud over the stove with a small fan hooking it to a small diameter pvc pipe to run up the chimney.

Put a elbow in the pvc for debri to keep traveling smoothly but at that elbow have it so any moisture can run downwards to collect either in bucket or floor drain.

The pipe might need cleaned out once in awhile.

Your asking a lot to go that far straight up.

Outside wall would be nice.

Maybe there are other ideas that someone can think of or modify..
